Bob Steele

Treasurer

Bob purchased his first Land Rover in 1991 – a Range Rover Hunter from the dealership in Richmond, Virginia. Within a couple years of doing so, he discovered the Land Rover enthusiast community. The Rover Owners Association of Virginia has always been Bob’s priority having served many years on the Board of Directors, and for 4 years as President, between 2013 – 2016. Bob is very proud that in 2013, ROAV once again was hosting two large annual events – RAW & MAR. Over the years, Bob has been a member of over a dozen clubs around the US and attended club events in 17 states. Bob enjoys travelling and visiting with the friends he has come to know over the past 35 years in our Land Rover community.

In 1998, Bob attended the ANARC 50th Anniversary Celebration at Greek Peak Resort, outside Courtland, New York. He had fond memories of ANARC, though it lapsed in 1999 until 2021, when Jeff Aronson and Bob discussed how best to resurrect ANARC. The goal was to bring ANARC back to life in order that a large celebration may be planned to celebrate Land Rover when it turned 75. From there, Jeff & Bob invited members of the original founding clubs of ANARC to re-establish the non-profit. Bob reached out to OVLR and ROAV and both agreed to step forward and take charge of ANARC and the planning for the 75th anniversary celebration of Land Rover in 2023.

Two years of planning went into the creation of the 75th celebration of Land Rover. Bob was proud to serve as the Event Director along with a dear friend Bruce Fowler, for the 75th Diamond Jubilee – at Greek Peak in 2023. Over 500 Land Rover vehicles and over 1,000 participants enjoyed the 5 day event celebrating the vehicles we so passionately love.

Since ANARC’s reformation in 2022, Bob has served as the Treasurer of the organization. He is proud to serve on the Board of Directors and continues to assist member clubs with their planning and activities. He serves as liaison to club leadership as they seek to enhance their local events.

In 2024, Bob began work on the creation of the ANARC Stewards training events with Chris Cole, James Geroux, and Bill Burke. The inaugural ANARC Stewards training event was hosted on March 27 – 30, 2025, in Tularosa, New Mexico, at the Cole Learning Center. Bob is proud to have led ANARC’s effort to “train the trainers”, by providing each ANARC member club with the opportunity to send 2 of their members to New Mexico to participate in this intense instructional event.

Outside of ANARC and Land Rover, Bob is the founder & Principal Architect of Beyond Ordinary Boundaries Architecture, a thriving small firm located in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Born and raised in Washington, DC, he is a 1982 graduate of Virginia Tech. Bob has put “Ut Prosim” (That I May Serve) at the heart of the journey of his practice, balancing service with excellence in architecture. A testament to this significant balance, in its 37 years of work, B.O.B. Architecture projects have been awarded dozens of Design Awards and received numerous local, regional, and national awards. He has received numerous awards and accolades. In 2018, Bob was recognized by his colleagues and elevated to Fellowship at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. Now an AIA Fellow, Bob continues to mentor young and adventurous architects.
